Mbizi Bush lodge is for the distinguished nature travellers who share a love of nature, the depth of its silence and the beauty of our Greater Kruger Big5 reserve.
Mbizi bush lodge is a family-owned and operated luxurious safari lodge. It is an exclusive small boutique lodge nestled in the African bush. Our reserve is situated in a low risk malaria zone. A stay with us will provide you authentic atmosphere and warm hospitality with fabulous food.
Guests arrive as visitors and leave as friends. You can either watch the game in the privacy and tranquility of your own veranda or from the veranda at the main house overlooking our private waterhole. As Mbizi is not fenced around the property, its a perfect place to relax and watch majestic creatures including the Big Five. Mbizi offers incredible viewing opportunities as the animals wander around in their natural habitat.
We are part of Balule Greater Kruger, which means our reserve has open borders with Kruger National Park. If you wish to visit Kruger National park, the Phalaborwa gate is only 25 km away from us. Mbizi is the perfect place to view all big 5 you would see in Kruger national park at our door step with drink in your hand.

OUR FOOD
The food is one of the highlights when you stay at Mbizi Bush Lodge. Both of us are coming from differnt background, culture and having lived in different countries, flavours have surely influenced us. Our menus are a careful balance between traditional African cuisines and Asian flavours with fresh produce.
The price per night includes 2 course breakfast and 3 course dinner made from fresh local ingredients.
The main dining area overlooks the illuminated waterhole, often resulting in some
spectacular game viewing. The outdoor dining area with an open fire under a dazzling canopy of stars
let you experience the incredible atmosphere of the bush at night.
A light lunch can be arranged if you prefer to stay at Mbizi to enjoy bird and game watching at the veranda or at the pool deck for an additional surcharge.

OUR GAMEDRIVES
Morning or afternoon drive in Balule (BIG5) reserve. The drives lasts for around 3hours and includes beverages and snacks.

ACTIVITIES
Watch the sun rise over the African bush from a hot air balloon. This is an early morning expirience, where you will see the animals from the air as they awake. Balloonist tradition tells, the landing will be celebrated with a glass of champagne.
This is a 3 hour cruise on The Mighty Olifants River, where you will get the opportunity to study hippos and crocodiles as well as watch the game of the bush, when they come to the river to drink by the end of the day.

Moholoholo is a rehabilitation centre for wild animals that have either been abandoned, injured or poisoned. Among others, you will meet lions, leopards, eagles and vultures at the centre

Take a nice day trip and enjoy the encounter of magnificent nature sceneries in the Mpumalanga Highveld. Lunch can be enjoyed in the quiet town of Graskop where souvenir shopping for carved wooden sculptures and African silk also is possible.

The Hans Merensky Golf Estate offers a beautiful 18 holes, par 72 golf course. You can meet giraffes, monkeys and impalas on the fairway. A very special golf experience
